Food is a big part of a wedding at Great Barn. We’re generous with the portions, but we’re generous with the choice too! And because all of our catering is handled in-house, with our own team of talented chefs, there’s no need for our couples to find an external caterer, juggle different suppliers or spend their time trying to coordinate menus. We take care of it all here, with a team that is more than familiar with the space they are working with.

That also means we can tailor menus to suit you. Whether you have your heart set on a particular dish, want something that reflects the season, or simply have a very clear idea of what you do (and don’t) want to eat on your wedding day, we can work with you to tweak our existing menus until they feel just right.

What does the Great Barn wedding menu include?

Our Feast package starts at £83 per head for 2026 and 2027 weddings, increasing slightly to £85 per head for 2028 bookings.

That includes canapés, a two-course meal, tea and coffee and evening food, with the option to add a third course for £10 per head.

And of course, the price covers all the other things you need to make the meal happen too: a Maître D, waiting staff, furniture, crockery, glassware and linen. So there’s no separate caterer to organise and no need to hire a room full of things you’ll only use once; it’s all taken care of as part of the package.

A wedding feast made for sharing…

One of the options that’s becoming increasingly popular is our sharing feast.

It really is such a lovely way to eat at a wedding. Food arrives at the table, everyone helps themselves, dishes are passed around and there’s usually a fair amount of going back for seconds. The Perfect Roast, for example, comes with all the trimmings. The sort of proper Sunday-lunch-style feast that suits a long afternoon of eating, drinking and talking very well indeed.

If sharing isn’t quite your thing, you can choose individual plated starters and mains instead. You might have Smoked Salmon with Shallots, Capers and Mustard Dressing, followed by Pressed Dartmoor Beef with Dauphioise Potatoes and Seasonal Greens. Or perhaps a Vegan Tagine with Tabbouleh, Mint and Cucumber salad.

There’s no single style of wedding food here at The Great Barn Devon. The menus give you plenty to choose from, so you can pick the dishes that sound most like you.

And then there are the puddings!

We’re not going to pretend pudding is ever an afterthought!

There are some gorgeously decadent desserts on the menu, including a Trio of Desserts for anyone who finds choosing just one particularly difficult! Which, when faced with a wedding pudding menu like ours, is entirely understandable.

When the dancing gets going!

There’s plenty to look forward to once the wedding breakfast is over, too. Our evening food options are a little more relaxed, with everything from street food and good old hearty pies to our famously popular wood-fired pizzas. It’s the sort of food that’s very welcome once the dancing has got underway – generous, satisfying and easy to tuck into between trips to the bar and the dance floor.

Good food, without the fuss…

We think wedding food should feel generous and enjoyable, rather than something you spend months worrying about. Having our own chefs and catering team here at Great Barn means we can look after the whole thing ourselves, from the canapés when your guests first arrive through to the evening food later on.

It also gives us the flexibility to make your menu your own, while keeping the practical side of things simple. And the feedback we hear from our couples is pretty lovely. Quite often, they tell us that the food was some of the best wedding food they’ve ever had. We’re very happy with that!
