The Great Barn
Aptly named because of its size (23 metres long, 7 metres wide, and boasting 45 foot high ceilings) The Great Barn is the heart of our wedding venue in Devon. As you make your way up the steps and walk through our vast elm doors, you’re guaranteed to be wowed. A beautiful, expansive and atmospheric space, you’ll discover character-rich stonework, exposed oak beams and an air of romance. Known as “the thatched cathedral” it is quite simply breathtaking…
The West Barn
Just across the courtyard from The Great Barn, you’ll find our beautifully refurbished West Barn. Expect lime-washed beams, plastered walls and a certain 16th Century charm – with a contemporary nod, of course! The perfect wet weather option for your drinks reception, or as a dedicated children’s area or chill-out space, it’s a versatile and inviting space for guests to enjoy. To make it extra cosy, we’ve kitted it out with some comfy sofas, bar stools and plenty of room for guests to mingle.
Friday night suppers and Sunday brunches are served in the West Barn.
Gardens & Grounds
Our guests love making the most of the gardens and grounds at The Great Barn Devon, including our secret walled garden that leaves every visitor utterly enchanted. Following your ceremony, enjoy a glass of something bubbly on the lawn, relax on our chic garden furniture in the sunshine and soak up the valley views. In the summer months, you could even take a dip in our outdoor pool.
The garden is also home to an array of photo backdrops (it really is a photographer’s dream), from the rose garden in summer to the ancient magnolia in spring. During the cooler months, a deep red creeper adorns the walls, while an avenue of sculpted box, flanked by ancient yew hedges, makes for a fabulous photograph all year round.
You may want to make the most of the outdoor space with live music during your reception. We’ll take care of PA, speakers and power supplies. And it goes without saying, our croquet set and lawn games always go down a storm amongst friends and family.
Onsite Accomodation
Our onsite accommodation really is as dreamy as it looks! Don’t just take our word for it – book in a tour to see it for yourselves. With capacity for up to 22 guests (30 including sofa and comfortable foldaway beds), we have a selection of gorgeous cottages for you and your inner circle to enjoy.
