Food is at the heart of every wedding celebration, and at The Great Barn Devon we offer exceptional wedding catering designed around your tastes, your guests, and your weekend.

Our team of in-house chefs create bespoke wedding menus using seasonal, locally sourced, organic produce. Whether you’re planning a relaxed feast or a more formal wedding breakfast, allow us to deliver a truly unforgettable meal.

We’re often told by guests our food is the “best wedding food they have ever had”. With our talented in-house chefs at the helm, we have carefully curated menus that incorporate as much locally sourced and organic produce as possible. And if you have something particular in mind for your wedding breakfast, just ask as our chefs are always happy to make tweaks.

In addition to catering on your wedding day itself, we offer flexible options to keep everyone thoroughly well-fed throughout their stay. Kick-start the festivities with a delicious Friday supper in the West Barn, and round off the weekend with a relaxed Sunday brunch or BBQ.

Our feast package is £83 per head for 2026/27 bookings,
increasing slightly to £85 per head for 2028 bookings.

This includes a Maître D, waiting staff, and all furniture, cutlery, glassware, china, and table linen for your day. Enjoy canapés, a two-course meal, tea & coffee, and evening food, with the option to upgrade to a three-course meal for just £10 per head.

PERFECT WEDDING DRINKS

Toast with something tasty, courtesy of our Bubbly & Bar Drinks Menu. You’ll find some of the finest local drinks produced in Devon, alongside wine and fizz that has been thoughtfully selected by our expert wine merchant. As always, if you have your heart set on something in particular, just let us know and we’ll make sure your glasses are never empty.

Our Great Drinks package is £24 per head for 2026/27 bookings,
increasing slightly to £28 per head for 2028 bookings.

This includes 2–3 drinks per guest during your reception from a selection of fizz, cocktails and non-alcoholic options, half a bottle of wine to enjoy with your feast, and a glass of Prosecco for speeches.

If you want to supply your own drinks for your reception, feast and toast, you can! At £15 per head for day guests, we’ll take delivery, store, unpack, dispose of all your bottles and chill your drinks ready for your celebration. Ice and garnishes at the ready!

FEAST FAQS

Do you provide in-house catering for weddings?

Yes – all food at The Great Barn Devon is prepared by our exceptional in-house catering team. We focus on seasonal, generous menus designed for relaxed wedding celebrations, using as much locally sourced and organic produce as possible. View our menus here.

Can we create a bespoke wedding menu?

We offer a selection of menus carefully designed to deliver hot, delicious food to large numbers in a very short space of time but can happily tailor them to suit your wedding style, guest numbers and preferences. Our Head Chef Mike is very willing to chat about your menu and is more than happy to take on board your thoughts, the menus on our website are by no means set in stone.

Do you cater for vegan, vegetarian and dietary requirements?

We are very used to catering for vegetarian, vegan and guests with food allergies. We take all dietary requirements incredibly seriously and will discuss in detail during the planning process. On the day our Chefs, Maitré D and waiting staff will be fully briefed to ensure the right food is served to the right guest.

What style of wedding food do you offer?

Plentiful and delicious! We offer a generous 8 canapés/head during the reception drinks as we are aware that most guests when they arrive at a wedding are incredibly hungry. When your guests take their seats for the wedding breakfast we can offer the choice of either individually served dishes or our hugely popular sharing feasts where beautifully laden boards and bowls arrive at the table for guests to help themselves.

Do you offer tea and coffee?

Following the wedding breakfast, we ask your guests to move out of the Great Barn to West Barn, or if it is a lovely evening back into the garden, where tea and coffee will be available. We can also serve Espresso Martinis at this point if you would like.

Can you offer evening food?

Evening food is included in our all-in price for Day Guest Food but you would need to factor in an additional £15 for any extra evening guests you would like to invite. Our menus offer a wide selection of evening food including pizzas which our chefs cook in our woodfired pizza oven in the courtyard. Street Food is also served from our courtyard kitchen. For winter months if you prefer warmed artisan pies, cheese or mezzés can be served in the Barn.

What time do you serve evening food?

We find the best time is around 9/9.30pm which if you are having a band is around the time they will be having a break.

Do you provide food for our wedding suppliers?

We offer a Supplier Supper for those who are with you throughout the day – photographers for example. This is generally a plated version of your main course. For bands we will simply add them into the evening food numbers.

Is there a charge to cut up our wedding cake?

No, once you have cut the cake our chefs will look after cutting it and displaying on wooden boards to be served alongside your evening food.

Can you provide food for a Friday supper or Sunday breakfast?

Yes – we can provide additional food options across the wedding weekend, including supper on Friday evening and breakfast on the Sunday which will be served in West Barn. Menus here.

If we wanted to go out for supper on Friday night or for Sunday lunch, where would you recommend locally?

We are extremely lucky to have two very good pubs on our doorstep – The Manor Inn in Lower Ashton where our families often go for a Friday supper and The Nobody Inn, accessible via a footpath which runs through our land and woodland (a lovely 40-minute walk) which is a good option for Sunday lunch.

Can we self-cater on the Friday and Sunday of our wedding weekend?

Of course, most families organise a big online shop to cover all the basics across the weekend including a grazing breakfast on Saturday morning. In the summer they often also BBQ on Friday or Sunday or cook for those staying on site. Place has been fully kitted out with everything needed to cater for around 30/40 people across the weekend including a 4-oven AGA, two large larder fridges and large freezer, masses of china, glass, cutlery etc

Can The Great Barn provide the drinks for our wedding day?

We have an all-in price to cover all the drinks you will need for your reception, feast and toasts with a large selection of fizzes, cocktails, beers, wines and non-alcoholic options. Drinks menu.

Can you supply casks of beer?

Yes we can supply you with a cask ale which we’ll set up in the outdoor kitchen with a plentiful supply of glasses next to it for guests to help themselves.

If there is a particular drink we would like to serve, can you source it?

Our fantastic wine merchant has a very long stock list, and we can certainly ask if there is something not on our drinks menu you would like.

Can we supply our own wedding drinks?

Yes, for £15 per head (for day guests) we’ll take delivery, store, unpack, dispose of your bottles, provide ice and garnishes and chill your drinks ready for your reception, feast and toasts after which our bar will go into action. If you wanted to provide some, but not all your drinks for the day we would be delighted to give you a quote.

Is there a licensed bar at The Great Barn Devon?

We have a fully stocked bar offering wines, beers, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks which we open after the wedding breakfast and speeches have finished. If you would like it to open earlier just let us know but there will be an additional fee to bring in our staff early. We have deliberately kept our bar pricing sensible and can take either card or cash payments.

Can we offer an open bar?

If you would like to provide the drinks for the evening reception we are more than happy to run a tab on the bar which will be added to your final invoice. An upper limit can be set if you prefer! The other option is to offer a token system giving a complimentary first drink to your guests.
