20 Years of The Great Barn Devon: Looking Back on the Restoration Journey
Twenty years ago, the story of The Great Barn Devon looked very different.
What now stands as a warm, characterful wedding venue full of life, laughter and celebration was once a huge restoration project requiring vision, patience and an enormous amount of hard work. Over the years, the barn has become not only a much-loved wedding venue, but a place where thousands of memories have been made.
We recently had the pleasure of welcoming reporter Jamie Townsend from The Moorlander to hear more about that journey. We talked through the renovation itself, the challenges involved in restoring such an extraordinary historic building, and the gradual evolution into the wedding venue it is today.
While so much has changed over the last two decades, the reason we do this has stayed remarkably constant. We genuinely love welcoming people here. Every wedding brings new stories, families, friendships and moments that make this work endlessly rewarding.
There is something incredibly special about seeing an old building continue to evolve and remain full of purpose. The Great Barn has now hosted weddings for generations of families, and being trusted with such important occasions is something we never take for granted.
We’re very grateful to The Moorlander for featuring our story and helping us celebrate this milestone year.
