From the first spring flowers through to candlelit, cosy winter evenings, the wedding year here at The Great Barn has its own undeniable rhythm. Surrounded by idyllic countryside, each season brings something different to the estate, and each wedding leaves its own mark on the year.
Spring
Spring arrives gently at The Great Barn, with fresh green grass emerging across the estate and the first real promise of longer days.
It’s a wonderful season for flowers, with couples making the most of what’s growing locally and bringing plenty of colour and movement into the barn, and of course there’s plenty of spectacular spring blossom to be admired in our gardens. We never get tired of watching the landscape beginning to wake up as the wedding season gets underway.

Summer
In the height of summer, it’s hard to imagine a better place to be… The estate is at its best, with the gardens in their full, colourful glory, long afternoons stretching into the evening and the whole place made for gathering outside.
Drinks on the lawn, photographs around the estate, a dip in the outdoor pool, a relaxed brunch the morning after… A 3-day wedding weekend offers time to enjoy it all.

Autumn
Autumn brings a richer palette to the estate and a slightly slower pace to the wedding weekend.
The changing landscape provides its own backdrop for photographs, while inside the barn, tables become warmer and more atmospheric as the evenings draw in. It’s a lovely time of year for long dinners, candlelight and celebrations that carry on well into the evening.

Winter
Winter weddings have a particular magic, which many of our couples simply can’t resist!
With the focus naturally drawn towards the Great Barn itself, the old stone walls and oak beams become part of the occasion, alongside candlelight, flowers and beautifully laid tables. Having the accommodation on site means the whole weekend can feel wonderfully contained – guests arriving together, celebrating together and waking up to breakfast the following morning.

A year at Great Barn
Four seasons, countless tables laid, hundreds of guests welcomed and a great many reasons to celebrate. It’s always a pleasure to see The Great Barn dressed and styled in so many different ways over the past year, from abundant seasonal flowers and colourful summer tables to candlelit autumn evenings and winter celebrations.
We’re always looking forward to seeing what comes next…
