A RECENT REVIEW OF THE GREAT BARN DEVON

It’s always a privilege to receive kind words from our couples. Every wedding is different, every couple has their own priorities, and it’s lovely to hear what stood out most to them after the celebrations are over.

After their June wedding, Klaudia and Connor left us this wonderful review:

As my great uncle said “it has to be one of the best wedding venues in the country” – the food, the gardens, the location were all amazing! We held our wedding here in June of this year and had just under 100 people, with our close family and friends staying on site. The whole build up to and weekend felt so smooth and effortless.

Emma and John were calm and extremely organised which helps massively when planning a wedding.
We are big foodie’s so that was important to us, and all of the food was fantastic. The barn was the perfect place to have your wedding breakfast.

I could go on but what was important to us was the food, the feel of the venue and the people we were dealing with planning the wedding. All of this was faultless.
We highly recommend anyone to get married at the Great Barn.

their review touched on three things we know matter to many couples searching for a wedding venue in Devon.

A venue that feels relaxed from the start

Planning a wedding involves countless decisions, so having experienced people around you makes a real difference. Klaudia and Connor described the build-up to their wedding as “smooth and effortless”, something they put down to careful organisation and support throughout the planning process. It’s exactly how we hope every couple feels by the time their wedding weekend arrives.

Food that people remember

If food is high on your list of priorities when planning your wedding celebration, you’re certainly not alone.

Klaudia and Connor describe themselves as “big foodies”, so their wedding breakfast was always going to be important. They told us the food was fantastic and that The Great Barn was the perfect place to share it with family and friends.

Our chefs prepare each and every wedding menu here on the estate, with dishes made from quality ingredients and served in the heart of our beautifully restored 15th-century barn. Discover more.

A venue where guests can make a weekend of it

With luxury on-site accommodation for up to 30 of your close family and friends, many couples choose to turn their wedding into a full weekend rather than a single day.

Klaudia and Connor had just under 100 guests, with their nearest and dearest staying here on the estate. That extra time together is something many couples tell us becomes one of the most memorable parts of the celebration.

Between the gardens, courtyard, historic Great Barn and surrounding Devon countryside, there are plenty of quiet moments to step away for photographs too, as these portraits from Klaudia and Connor’s day beautifully show.

Thank you

We’re very grateful to Klaudia and Connor for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review.
